DOCUMENT AND LOCATION AWARDED UWE RESEARCH GROUP FUNDING for 2020 programme
We are delighted to announce that Document and Location have been awarded research funding from the Faculty of Arts, Creative Industries and Education at the University of the West of England, Bristol for the second consecutive year.
The award of £4,500 will support the continued development of the research group and its public activity. This will include the expansion of the group to include new members, support the groups national and international networking and support its commissioning of new critical writing for its publishing programme.
Document and Location is a research group developed by academics from Fine Art, Photography and Architecture at The University of The West of England, Bristol, in partnership with Foreground. Conceived of and convened by Simon Morrissey, Senior Lecturer in Fine Art and Director of Foreground, the group’s research will inform a public programme of discursive events and publishing delivered in partnership with Foreground throughout 2020.
Document and Location provides a structure through which its members as both academics and practitioners can intervene critically in recent discourses around place and space that have been prevalent across Architecture, Fine Art, Geography, and Photography. Document and Location members include Sophie Hayes, Simon Morrissey, Sophie Warren and Jonathan Mosley, Mike Ricketts and Aaron Schuman.
