UWE New Starter Research funding secured towards Aftermath

We are pleased to share that Sophie Hayes and Huma Mulji have been awarded New Starter research funding from The University of the West of England towards Aftermath.

Aftermath is the first public exhibition project in the Document and Location programme. Curated by Simon Morrissey, Foreground Director and UWE Associate Professor in Fine Art,
the project brings together two new bodies of work emerging as a result of Hayes and Mulji’s participation in UWE’s New Starter Research programme since September 2021, which has supported them with time to develop new research.

The funding awards of £3,012.00 and £2,980.00 respectively are awarded to support the artists to realise public exhibitions of their new work produced by Foreground. Aftermath will consist of two concurrent solo exhibitions of new work by Hayes and Mulji staged in Bristol in Spring 2024.
